Synergistic human-AI interactions exploit the unique strengtsh of human and AI reasoning to create human-AI systems that can achieve more than eiether on their own. The assumption is usually also that this is not simply AI being inviisbly embedded in a tool (such as engine management in a car), nor as high-level instruction for the human (as in many gig-economy jobs), but truly working together. For this there may need to be modifications in both the nature of the AI (for example, usining confidence measures to provide liberal suggestions combined with conservative warnings) and the user interface (for example using epistemic interaction techniques).
